Law enforcement authorities have detained Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs' advisor on public administration issues Mārtiņš Brencis, reports Latvian Television.

The new government must take bolder decisions, according to the opinion of the leadership of the Foreign Investors’ Council in Latvia (FICIL). At present, uncertainty over migration issues and the lack of concrete plans are causing concern, Latvian Radio reported on October 28.

On Tuesday, 27 October, the government decided to extend the ban on occasional passenger bus services to Russia and Belarus by one year. The government had already banned such services for one year last year.

The website of Latvia's parliament, the Saeima, (saeima.lv) has adopted a new design, the goal of which is to make information about the work of the parliament easier to find and more accessible, as well as to provide a more convenient opportunity to follow and participate in the work of the Saeima.

Lithuanian Transport Minister Juras Taminskas said on Monday that he hopes the installation of a new government in Latvia will improve cooperation on the troubled Rail Baltica project, reports Lithuanian public media LRT.
