Offline card payments introduced by some retailers in Latvia

The Bank of Latvia, in collaboration with providers of essential services and retailers, has introduced a solution for situations where card payments cannot be made in the usual way due to internet or mobile network disruptions – offline card payments.

This would enable people to purchase essential goods – food, fuel and medicines, according to the Bank of Latvia.
