The number of tourists from Tajikistan visiting Malaysia increased by 60. 2% in the first six months of 2026 compared with the same period last year. According to Tourism Malaysia, an agency under Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), 2,131 tourists from Tajikistan visited the country between January and June 2026. During the same period in 2025, Malaysia recorded 1,330 tourist arrivals from Tajikistan. Tajikistan recorded one of the highest growth rates among Central Asian countries. Kazakhstan accounted for the largest number of arrivals from the region, with 26,296 tourists, up 11. 8% year-on-year.

Uzbekistan ranked second with 16,283 visitors, an increase of 62%. Malaysia received 4,168 tourists from Kyrgyzstan, up 13. 7%, while Turkmenistan accounted for 4,469 arrivals. In total, Malaysia welcomed 53,347 tourists from the five Central Asian countries — Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan — between January and June 2026. This was 23. 3% higher than in the same period of 2025, when 43,280 arrivals were recorded.
