Cricket West Indies appoints veteran English coach as batting consultant

Cricket West Indies has officially added the services of batting consultant Bob Carter to its team. The British-born, former first-class cricketer was appointed on September 1 for one year initially to work across men’s and women’s cricket. Carter brings decades of cricket coaching experience, including a stint as the head coach of the New Zealand national women’s team from 2019 to 2022. Prior to that, he served as a high-performance coach with New Zealand Cricket from 2012 to 2025.

Although officially retired from full-time coaching, Carter has recently completed consultancies with the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) at Lord’s, as well as a coaching clinic with the Saint Lucia Cricket High-Performance Centre. His first assignment will be a regional tour later this month, taking him to Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, the Leeward Islands and the Windward Islands.
